This morning I was interested by a comment by Jesus
to the religeous leaders.
He asked them what obedience looks like
and they give the correct answer,
but don't 'get it'....
He relates how tax collectors and prostitutes
were responding to God's call
and that should 'get their attention'!

He said,
Matt 21:31b “Truly, I say to you,
the tax collectors and the prostitutes
go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness,
and you did not believe him,
but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him.
And even when you saw it,
you did not afterward change your minds
and believe him.
Context Matthew 21:23-32

Watch the Tax Collectors and Prostitutes.....
That surprised me
that Jesus would use 'sinners' as 'windvanes' of truth.
Their response and changed lives
pointed to John's message and then to Jesus himself.

Yet why not?
They seem to be the 'bottom of the barrel' in almost every culture.
Bad family backgrounds
Addiction issues
Moral issues
Faith issues
Anger issues.....
So much so that for the religious leaders of the time
they were considered 'untouchables'
Don't get near or they would get 'defiled'!

And yet whatever brings change to 'those peoples' lives
must be powerful 'medicine'....
Real 'medicine'
Truth
and
Power.

Lord Jesus,
You surprised me again this morning.
Pointing to the transformation in others
as a testimony of Your truth.
Your Life.

Thank You for the reminder
that 'bad cases' are actually proof of
Your amazing power
It brings a testimony even for those
who think they are
'nice' or 'good'......

The 'bad ones'....
- those who say 'no' initially
and turn back to You
You call them
Your Obedient children...

Yes Lord.
you are a
Good Good Father.
and You are more than
enough.
for anyone.

Yes.
