Good day church family in Black Creek and beyond,

Blessing and joy this week in your community of care.

Over the last year, I have become the confidant of a fellow that I work with.

Someone who is in my 'zone' but every once and a while crosses the line from being friendly to sharing their 'treasures'.

I value this 'going deeper' and hold it as an honour.

But

It makes me ponder, 'Why me? What makes me eligible to be a closer friend?'

I asked the Lord what invites them to trust me more.

These are a few;

I start the day with Joy The first question I am always asked is, 'How are you?'

I choose to inject joy into my response.

I choose humour at self and playfully with others to lighten the load of the day.  Healthy laughter makes everyone's day go better.

I choose cleanness in my language, workspace, and focus on the task I am being paid for.

Others know I have a high standard for myself and my work.

I choose to be 'off the clock' when others want to talk to me. Then I can be fully present.

It honours my employer and the person telling me their experience.

Romans 14:13  Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer,

but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.

14  I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself,

but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.
15  For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love.

By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.

16  So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.
17  For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking

but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
18  Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Check out a song that I think will bring a smile.   The Joy of the Holy Ghost

This Sunday evening is our Annual General Meeting.  All are welcome. Snacks and coffee are available.

The agenda will be to;

- recognize and pray for the ministries of our 'house'

- approve the 2024 budget

- affirm by vote those who have agreed to lead those ministries.

We will be starting at 7:00 pm in the activity hall and shall endeavour to finish by 9:00 pm

Continue to pray for those in difficulty, those needing healing and health, and those feeling overwhelmed at this time.

Our Lord's joy loves to bring hope in each situation.

* A reminder for those wishing to be baptized or to become a member of our local church body, to connect with myself or Pastor Barry.

I have chosen to be a person that is approachable, honourable, and enjoyable. That has required some intentional adjustments for me.

I would love to hear what makes you a person others trust with their story.

Drop me a line and let me know....

Blessings on your week,

Peter Jackson
