Last night got a text.
From a friend.
Part of me hesitated to respond.
I knew that he would likely need prayer.
I would have to spend time and energy working that out with him.
and I was tired....
and it was getting late...
....and I did
....and it was good. :)

But something happened. :(

After I prayed with him
my heart did an 'end run' on me
it 'patted me on the back'
and said, "Well done Peter.
You are a master with words,
You ministered to him well,
You are Amazing...."

Hmm....

Over the last 2 months our men's group
has been working through a series on
Pride.

Busted.

Luke 18:9-14 - The Pharisee and tax collectors prayers.

My heart took the opportunity of a
'job well done'
and switched it to;
"I am amazing...... see me!"

So......
This morning I read a devotional on
the amazing privilege it is
to pray for others!

The rest of my Lesson?

Check my heart for Pride.
Deal with it.
Move on.

Don't let the condemnation cycle
distract
or defeat
or disqualify me
from entering again into ministry.
Jesus in Matthew 6:5 states it well.

"When You pray"

Lord Jesus.
You love to hear me pray.
My challenge is to that now I actually have
amazing opportunities and authority in Your kingdom
to work that out in
Humility.

Thank You, that even in that place
You teach me
to get it right,
get back on 'the horse'
and push in to You
on behalf of
others.

Thank You Jesus.
